Q: What type of merchandise do you take?
A: It’s impossible to list all the items we might take. We are looking for high quality new and second-hand items that would be of value to other people. We take furniture, antiques, home décor, musical instruments, jewelry, estate items, artisan work, etc.
Q: What’s the commission you take?
A: olnicknacks’ commission is 50% for all merchandise other than handmade items. The commission is 30% for all artisan work.
Q: I have a large piece of furniture, and I don’t want to bring it here unless I know you will take it. What should I do?
A: Take a picture of item and either bring it in to the shop or e-mail it to olnicknack @aol.com.
Q: Do you deliver furniture?
A: Ol’nicknacks does not deliver furniture; however, we can recommend someone.
Q: How much do you charge to list items on eBay?
A: Charges are a combination of eBay fees and ol’nicknacks fees. Please review the eBay contract under the eBay tab, then call if you have any questions 410-857-9948.
Q: Do you ever refuse any merchandise.
A: Yes. We would refuse any merchandise that is not in fitting with ol’nicknacks standards. We do not accept appliances or electronics.
Q: Do you sell clothings.
A: We do not specialize in clothing; however, from time to time we may offer formal ladies wear or bridal gowns.
Q: Is all of your merchandise used?
A: No. We have a variety of new and second-hand items.
Q: When do you accept consignments?
A: Consignments are accepted by appointment.
Q: How do the markdowns work?
A: Artisan work is never marked down unless the artist requests it. All other merchandise gets marked down 15% every 30 days for a total of three markdowns.
Q: How long do you keep the merchandise?
A: All merchandise is contracted for 120 days; however, the consignor may take the items out prior to the end of the 120 day period.
Q: Where do you get your merchandise?
A: The merchandise comes from a wide variety of consignors in the area.
Q: Do you accept layaway.
A: No we do not accept layaway. We will hold an item for 48 hours. After 48 hours, the item becomes available for purchase.
